Community center Nov pat 2011 and two schools to work on common project
The Guardians of Thrace Project won the Nov pat 2011 Community Center from the village of Dobrich in Dimitrovgrad and the Pencho Slaveikov Primary Schools in Dimitrovgrad and Shehsuvarbey from Uzunkopru, Turkey. It includes 45 students aged 10 to 15 from both countries. For 15 months, they will be actively involved in environmental protection activities in the region. Children will become familiar with the current environmental situation in the region in which they live and will be educated in basic aspects of ecology.
The project is aimed at sustainable knowledge of ecology and environmental protection and education of adolescents responsible for the rational use of natural resources in the cross-border region. The funding is from the Interreg IPA Bulgaria-Turkey Cross-Border Cooperation Program (2014-2020), co-financed by the European Union's Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance II. At a press conference tomorrow, the three partners will give their first press conference on the project.
This is the second cross-border project that the Community Center Nov pat 2011 will implement. In 2018, amateurs from the village of Dobrich and their partners from the Turkish city of Merich successfully completed a project on common traditions and customs in the cross-border region.
